While travelling

Journey

1. Start your journey – Check-in

Open the Rejsekort app, and the nearest station or stop will be displayed automatically. You must be near a station or stop to check in. If you are not, an error message will appear explaining the issue.

You must check in before boarding any means of transport to ensure that your ticket is valid.

Check in by swiping right.

2. Check in extra travelers, bicycles, and dogs

You can add extra travelers (adults, children, and seniors), bicycles, and dogs in the app before checking in by swiping right.

Click on the blue circle on the right above the swipe button. Here, you can select the number of extra travelers, bicycles, or dogs. Note: You can add a maximum of 27 extra travelers in addition to yourself.

Next to the blue circle, you will see the total number of extra travelers, bicycles, and dogs. Once you have swiped to check in, the option to add extra travelers will be locked, and the circle will turn gray.

3. Travel and show your ticket

Enjoy your journey without worries. When the inspector arrives, simply press "Show ticket" so your QR code can be scanned. The inspector may require you to show ID.

The inspector will also be able to see any extra travelers you have added to your check-in.

When changing transport, you do not need to take any action in the app. Wait until your journey is fully completed before checking out.

4. End your journey – Check-out

When you have finished your journey and have left the last mode of transport, check out by swiping left. The app will then handle the rest.

Do you sometimes forget to check out? You can get assistance by enabling Smart Check-out. Read more about Smart Check-out: On the journey | rejsekort.dk

5. After your journey

The Rejsekort app calculates your travel fare and bills your journeys once per day.

The ticket price will include any additional travelers, bicycles, and dogs. The price will be displayed as a total for all travelers.

Any discounts you are eligible for will automatically be applied to your daily invoice.

Payment processing: You will be charged once daily for the journeys you have made throughout the day. The amount is automatically deducted from the payment method linked to your app.

With Rejsekort as an app, you can purchase tickets for public transport throughout Denmark.

Additionally, you can use the app in selected locations in Sweden (Malmö C Station, Hyllie Station and Triangeln Station) as well as on a single bus route in Northern Germany (Bus line 110 Sønderborg-Flensburg).

The app cannot be used on Bornholm with BAT.

The DSB 1' option in Rejsekort as an app only applies to InterCity, InterCityLyn and Lyn+ and costs DKK 180.

If you want to travel on DSB 1‘ with regional trains, you must purchase a DSB 1’ supplementary ticket instead. It costs DKK 40.

Check in and out

You must check in before boarding the means of transport. If you check in after your journey has started, you risk receiving a penalty.

You do not need to check in again if you change means of transport during your journey.

You must check out when your journey is completely finished and you have reached your destination.

If you forget to check out once, Rejsekort as an app will automatically check you out during the night.

If it happens often that you forget to check out, we recommend that you activate notifications and enable the 'Smart check-out' function.

Note! The Check Udvej app can only be used for Rejsekort as a card.

If the price for your journey is incorrect due to a forgotten check-out, you should contact Rejsekort Customer Service as soon as possible. You can do this by calling Rejsekort Customer Service on tel. +45 70 11 33 33. Press 3 for Rejsekort, then press 2 for Rejsekort as an app.

You can also write to us via the contact form, which you can find in the app under your travel history. Click on the incorrectly calculated journey and find the contact form at the bottom of the page.

If you have enabled Smart check-out, Rejsekort as an app can remind you if you forget to check out. Smart check-out sends a notification to your phone within 10-30 minutes, allowing you to choose whether to end or continue your journey. If you forget to manually end your journey, Smart check-out will automatically check you out. Smart check-out must be enabled before you check in.

How do I enable Smart check-out?

  1. Activate Smart check-out in Rejsekort as an app. Go to Menu > Settings > Travel and enable Smart check-out. You can also tap the small icon just above Check In.
  2. Check in by swiping to the right in the app.
  3. As soon as the app detects that you are no longer using public transport, it will send you a notification.
  4. If you want to continue your journey, you can click 'Continue journey' within 5 minutes of receiving the notification on your phone.
  5. If you do not take any action within 5 minutes of receiving the notification on your phone, the app will end your journey for you via Smart check-out.

When is Smart check-out triggered?

Smart check-out is triggered when the app identifies that you are no longer travelling by public transport. This starts an automatic check-out process, which you can manually interrupt if you are still travelling.

Does Smart check-out affect the ticket price?

Smart check-out does not affect your ticket price. After each trip, the system behind the Rejsekort app evaluates the route travelled and calculates your price.

How do I add extra travelers, dogs, or bicycles?
You can add extra travelers, dogs, or bicycles by clicking on the blue button located to the right above "Check-in." When you click the button, a menu opens where you can add the desired types of extra travelers by clicking "+" and remove them by clicking "–."

How many extra travelers can I add per trip?
You can add up to 27 types of extra travelers in addition to yourself per trip. This includes people, dogs, and bicycles.

When should I select extra travelers?
Extra travelers must be selected before you check in. Once selected, the number of extra travelers is displayed in a red circle. Please note that the type of extra traveler is not indicated in the circle.

Can I change my selections after check-in?
No, the settings are locked after check-in. The blue button turns gray to indicate that the function is locked. Therefore, you must ensure you select extra travelers before checking in.

What happens after check-out?
After check-out, the button turns blue again, and you can select extra travelers for your next trip.

How are more travelers displayed during ticket inspection?
During inspection, the selected extra travelers are displayed at the bottom of your ticket in the following order, if selected: adult, child, dog, bicycle.

Can I see the price for each extra traveler?
No, in the app's history, only the total price of the ticket, including extra travelers, is shown. If you have chosen to receive an invoice by email, the total price will also be included there. You cannot see an individual price per extra traveler or traveler type.

No, once you have checked out, your journey is completed, and you will be billed for the completed journey. If you check in again, you will be billed for a new journey. Your journeys are not combined as they are with Rejsekort as a card.
