Location data
To ensure that we correctly register your journey with Rejsekort as an app, you need to enable the app’s location and localization services.
When do we collect your location data?
To ensure that you have a valid ticket and pay the correct price for your journey, our app uses your location data.
We store your location data in an archive for 36 months. This is done, among other things, to comply with the Statute of Limitations and to allow you to receive a refund if the app has mistakenly calculated your journey incorrectly.
Please note that if you forget to check out, we will also store location data until you check out yourself or the system does it automatically for you – but only for 2 months.
We always recommend that you check out immediately. If you enable Smart Check-Out in the app, we will help remind you.
You can always read a more detailed description of our collection and use of your location data in our terms, which you can find here:
The fine print | rejsekort.dk
We use your location data exclusively to:
- Map the journeys you complete
- Document your journey
- Calculate the correct fare for your trip
- Remind you to check out if you forget
- Automatically check you out (Smart Check-out function in the app)
- Ensure that you remain checked in and have a valid ticket if the app or your phone shuts down unexpectedly
Why do you need to share your location as ‘Always’ on iPhone?
If you have an iPhone, you must set location sharing to ‘Always Allow.’ Apple’s operating system requires us to have access to the traveler’s location ‘at all times’ for Apple to allow us to ensure that:
- Your ticket remains valid even if the app closes—whether by the customer themselves or due to a phone update or shutdown
- We can use location data to remind you to check out if we detect that you are no longer traveling but are still checked in via the app
We strive to provide the best possible experience when you travel with Rejsekort as an app for public transport. You can read more about our data processing in our privacy policy.
Language selection
Rejsekort as an app supports both Danish and English. The language of Rejsekort as an app is determined by the language setting of your phone.
So, if you want to switch the language from English to Danish or vice versa, you need to change the language in your phone's settings, not in the app.
Deactivate
You can deactivate your account in the Rejsekort app under Settings. To do this, open the Rejsekort app, go to Settings, scroll to the bottom, and select: Deactivate account. You will then need to confirm that you want to deactivate by typing DEACTIVATE.
We store your travel data for 36 months from the registration of the information. After this period, your travel data will be anonymised and can no longer be linked to you. You can read why we do this in our Privacy Policy here:
As a public transport passenger, you have the right to file a complaint up to 36 months after your journey.
To process any potential complaints, we retain your travel data for 36 months from the date of registration, and during this period, your account will be deactivated rather than deleted.
